Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start on Great River Road (Highway 61) and head toward Dubuque. Once you reach Dubuque, take the exit for US-20 W. Merge onto US-20 W and continue for about 3 miles. Take the exit for Bellevue Heights Rd and turn left onto Bellevue Heights Rd. The EB Lyons Interpretive Center will be on your left at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd. There is free parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, check for bus services that operate in the Dubuque area. You may need to take a bus to the Dubuque Transit Center. From there, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the EB Lyons Interpretive Center, which is approximately 5 miles away. Be sure to check local transit schedules for current times and possible costs for the taxi or rideshare service.

• Biking

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider biking to the EB Lyons Interpretive Center. There are bike paths that connect to the area. Start on the bike trails along the Mississippi River and follow them toward Bellevue Heights Rd. The center is about a 30-minute ride from downtown Dubuque. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated!

  If you are staying nearby and wish to walk, ensure you are prepared for a longer trek, as the EB Lyons Interpretive Center is approximately 5 miles from downtown Dubuque. Follow the sidewalks along the main roads and then turn onto Bellevue Heights Rd. This is a more scenic option but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
