If you are traveling by car, head north on the Historic Hills Scenic Byway (IA-17) from your current location. Continue on IA-17 for approximately 18 miles until you reach the intersection with IA-7. Turn left onto IA-7 and continue for about 5 miles. Then, turn right onto Brushy Creek Road (you will see signs for Brushy Creek State Recreation Area). Follow Brushy Creek Road for about 1 mile until you see the entrance to the recreation area on your left. There is no entrance fee for the park.
