    The Calhoun County Historical Museum is located at 150 E High St in Rockwell City. From Highway 20, turn north onto either N Court St or N Richmond St. Proceed to E High St and turn east. The museum will be on your left. Parking is available on the north side of the building.

Step back in time at the Calhoun County Historical Museum, a treasure trove of local history located in Rockwell City, Iowa. Established in 1964, the museum's mission is to preserve and showcase the heritage of Calhoun County through diverse exhibits and collections. The museum is located in the former Rockwell City High School since 1986. Inside, visitors can explore a variety of displays spread across multiple floors and a barn. Exhibits include an interesting collection of farm implements and tools. Antique tractors, planters, harvesters and tools will jog your memory if you ever lived or worked on a farm. The lower level features a recreation of businesses of the past. The museum also houses genealogical records, family histories, newspaper scrapbooks, school records, telephone books, historic maps, photographs and postcards. The Calhoun County Historical Society was incorporated in 1965 and has expanded from a group of 25 women to a museum containing thousands of historical artifacts. The museum is a non-profit organization that depends on donations. It is an evolving collection and an endless source of education and entertainment.
