    The Anderson Dance Pavilion stands as a testament to architectural innovation and a hub for rhythmic expression in Sioux City, Iowa. Built in the early 1990s, this pavilion, with its Greek/Roman architecture and formal gardens, has become a premier community space along the Missouri River. The pavilion's crowning glory is its 5,500 sq. ft. Birdair PTFE membrane canopy. This barrel-vaulted tensile membrane roof creates an ethereal ambiance, blending natural light and shelter. The translucent canopy infuses the space with a soft, diffused glow, making it ideal for various dance events. Chris Larsen Park, where the pavilion is located, offers a range of amenities, including picnic areas, walking trails, a splash pad, and a dog park. The park also features the Sergeant Floyd Welcome Center and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. The park's 110 acres provide a picturesque setting for outdoor activities and events. The Anderson Dance Pavilion hosts many summer special events, parades, walks, and weddings. It is a venue for community events like Cinco de Mayo, ArtSplash, and the Mardi Gras Parade. In the summer, free Zumba classes are offered at the pavilion on Monday nights.
