    Discover more about Trinity Heights

Trinity Heights, located in Sioux City, Iowa, is a 16-acre park-like sanctuary that offers a unique blend of spirituality, art, and natural beauty. Founded in the late 1980s and opened in 1990, Trinity Heights was the vision of Father Harold Cooper, who was inspired by a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary he saw in California. He sought to create a similar inspiring landmark in the Midwest. The grounds feature numerous shrines, statues, and gardens designed to inspire prayer and reflection. The most prominent features are the towering statues of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Queen of Peace and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Immaculate Heart of Mary statue, erected in 1992, stands 30 feet tall and welcomes visitors with open arms. The Sacred Heart of Jesus statue, added in 1998, is even taller at 33 feet. These statues, created by Dale Lamphere, serve as focal points for the entire complex. Other key attractions include a life-size wood carving of the Last Supper located in St. Joseph's Center, created by Jerry Traufler. The Way of the Saints, the Circle of Life memorial, and various Marian apparition gardens offer additional opportunities for contemplation and learning. Trinity Heights also hosts a museum with artifacts from the former Trinity College and High School that once occupied the grounds. Trinity Heights is open to people of all faiths and welcomes over 100,000 visitors each year. The grounds are open most days, with the exception of very snowy winter days, and admission is free. Visitors can explore the grounds at their own pace, taking in the serene atmosphere and beautiful landscaping.
