Driving
From Sioux City, take Stone Park Boulevard or Highway 12 to reach Stone State Park. Enter the park through the main entrance on Stone State Park Drive and follow the signs for Elk Point Overlook. The overlook is approximately 2.5 miles from the entrance. Parking is available at the designated area near the overlook.
Public Transport
From the Sioux City Transit Center (4th and Nebraska Street), take Bus Route 5 towards Stone State Park. Get off at the stop closest to the park entrance. From there, follow the trail signs to Elk Point Overlook. Be aware that public transportation schedules may be limited. A single fare for the bus is approximately $1.75.
Walking
For those already in Stone State Park, follow the trails leading towards Elk Point Overlook from the visitor center. Take the main trail heading north and watch for signs directing you to the overlook. The hike is about 1 mile from the visitor center. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear as some parts may be uneven.
