Walking
The Allamakee County Historical Society Museum is located at 121 Allamakee St NW in Waukon. From most points in downtown Waukon, the museum is easily accessible on foot. From the intersection of Main Street and Allamakee Street, walk north on Allamakee Street for one block. The museum will be on your left, housed in the old courthouse. No costs are associated with walking.
Driving
The Allamakee County Historical Society Museum is located at 121 Allamakee St NW in Waukon. From Highway 9, turn onto Allamakee Street and proceed north. The museum will be on your left. Parking is available on the street near the museum. Be aware of winter parking restrictions from November 15 to April 1. During this period, there is no parking on any street in the downtown business district between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.. Also, during a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on public streets and alleys until the snow has been removed. Free parking is available.
