Driving
The most common way to approach Volga River State Recreation Area is by car. From Fayette, head northeast on IA-150. Turn onto 175th Street, then onto Ivy Road, which leads directly to the park. Follow Ivy Road to reach the park's various access points, including Lakeview Campground to the north and Albany Campground to the south. There are no fees to enter the park, but camping and some amenities may require payment. Parking is available at trailheads, campgrounds, and near Frog Hollow Lake.

If you are already in Fayette, and depending on your location, you could walk or bike to the park. Head northeast out of Fayette on IA-150, turn onto 175th Street, then onto Ivy Road, which leads directly to the park. Be aware that this is a considerable distance and there are no dedicated walking or bicycle lanes along the highway. Ensure you have appropriate safety gear.
