Walking
The Kurdish Textile Museum is located within the Erbil Citadel. Once you are at the Citadel's main entrance, follow the path through the historic site. The museum is situated in the southeast quarter of the Citadel, housed in a renovated mansion. The walk from the entrance takes approximately 5-10 minutes. There is no fee to enter the Citadel, but the museum has a small entry fee, approximately 1,500 IQD.
Taxi
Taxis are the most common mode of transport in Erbil. From most locations in central Erbil, a taxi ride to the Erbil Citadel will cost between 4,000 to 13,000 IQD, depending on the distance and traffic. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your trip. Ask the driver to drop you off at the main entrance of the Citadel. From there, it is a short walk to the museum. As of 2025, a 5km taxi ride in Erbil is approximately 12.1 USD.
