    From Dokan city center, head towards the Qashqoli area. Follow the road along the river originating from the Dukan Dam. The citadel is located on a hill overlooking the river. Note that the road leading directly to the citadel may be unpaved in sections. Parking is available near the base of the hill, from which you will need to walk up to the citadel. It is advisable to hire a local taxi for ease of access. A taxi ride from Dokan city center to Sartka Citadel will cost approximately IQD 5,000 - 7,000.

Nestled in the Qashqoli area near Dokan Lake in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate, the Sartka Citadel is a historical fortress constructed between 1813 and 1837 by Prince Muhammad of the Soran Emirate. The citadel, also known as Pasha Kora Castle, was strategically built on a hill overlooking the river flowing from the Dukan Dam. This location allowed Prince Muhammad to protect trading routes and defend against Ottoman and Safavid attacks.Constructed from local stone and clay, the square-shaped citadel once served as a military base, complete with watchtowers at each corner.
