Walking
From the center of Mosul, a good starting point is near the Al-Nuri Mosque. Head southeast on Al-Mansour Street until you reach the intersection with Al-Mahdi Street. Turn left onto Al-Mahdi Street and continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards the Mosul Forest area. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will see a small park on your right; this is an indicator that you are getting close. Continue walking for another 500 meters until you reach the entrance of Mosul Forest. Walking is free.
Public Transport
From the city center, make your way to the nearest bus station, which is located near the Al-Nuri Mosque. Look for a bus heading towards the district of The Left Coast or the Mosul Forest area. The fare is usually very affordable. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Mosul Forest. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the forest entrance, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Bus fare is approximately 500 IQD.
