Getting There

  • Driving

    From Erbil International Airport, the most convenient way to reach Korek Mountain Resort is by car or taxi. The journey covers approximately 100 km and takes around 1 hour and 19 minutes. Head northeast from Erbil on the main highway towards Soran. Once in the vicinity of Soran, follow signs for Korek Mountain Resort. The drive offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Parking is available at the resort free of charge. However, during peak season, parking spaces may be limited.

  • Teleferic

    Upon arrival at the base of Mount Korek in Bekhal, the final ascent to the resort is via the Korek Teleferic. This 4km-long cable car ride is the only aerial lift in Iraq and offers panoramic views. The teleferic operates from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, but it is subject to change based on weather conditions. Special transport ticket/fare: A ride in the VIP cabin will cost extra. Guests arriving after 8:00 PM may face a charge of USD 50 per cabin for emergency operation.
