Gondekeshan Park: A Natural Oasis in Zakho

Getting There

• Car

  If driving from the center of Zakho, head southeast on the main road (Duhok-Zakho Road). Continue for about 5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you toward Gondekeshan, which is located at coordinates 37.1504622, 42.6726771. There's a parking area available near the entrance. The drive usually takes around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Parking is free.

• Taxi

  You can catch a taxi from anywhere in Zakho. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Gondekeshan. Make sure to have the address (5M2F+53M, Zakho, Duhok Governorate) written down, as this will help the driver. The taxi ride should cost you between 2,000 to 5,000 IQD. The journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

• Public Transport

  Another option is to take a minibus heading towards Duhok. Minibuses can be found near the central market in Zakho. Get off at the nearest stop to Gondekeshan. After getting off, you may need to walk for about 1 kilometer to reach the park. The minibus fare is usually around 1,000 IQD.
