Panorama Park: Zakho's Scenic Escape

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are staying close to the city center, you can walk to Panorama Park. Start from the central market area and head southeast on Al Quds Street. Walk for approximately 2 kilometers, which will take around 25-30 minutes. Keep an eye out for directional signs leading to the park. The park entrance will be on your right side.

• Public Transport

  To reach Panorama Park via public transport, take a local minibus or shared taxi from the main bus station in Zakho. Look for minibuses heading towards the Duhok region. Inform the driver that you want to go to Panorama Park. The fare is usually around 500 IQD (Iraqi Dinar) per person. The driver will drop you off near the entrance of the park. Confirm with the driver before boarding that they will stop at Panorama Park. As of July 2025, 500 IQD is approximately $0.38 USD.

• Taxi

  Taxis are readily available in Zakho. A taxi ride from the city center to Panorama Park, roughly 5km, will cost approximately $15.50 USD. Taxis can be hailed on the street or booked through a ride-hailing app. Ensure the driver is aware of the destination before starting the ride.

• Car

  If driving from the center of Zakho, head southeast on the main road (Al Quds Street). Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection near the Zakho Bridge. At the intersection, take a left turn onto the road leading towards Panorama Park. Follow the signs for approximately 1 kilometer until you see the entrance to Panorama Park on your right. Parking is available near the entrance, and there are no fees for parking.
