The primary way to reach Inis Mór is by ferry. Ferries depart from Rossaveel (year-round) and Galway City (seasonal). From the ferry terminal in Kilronan, Mainistir House Hostel is approximately a 30-minute walk or a short taxi ride. Ferry costs vary depending on the departure point and time of year. A round-trip ferry ticket from Rossaveel typically costs around €30 for adults, while a ticket from Galway City can cost around €92. Taxi from Kilronan Harbour to the hostel will cost approximately €10-15. Alternatively, you can take a flight from Connemara Regional Airport to Inishmore.

From Kilronan, the main village and ferry port on Inis Mór, Mainistir House Hostel is located about 3km away. To walk to the hostel, exit the ferry terminal and follow the main road (R341) west. After approximately 2km, turn right onto the smaller road signposted for Mainistir. The hostel is located at the top of the hill. The walk takes approximately 30 minutes and offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Be aware that the road is uphill for the final stretch. There are no costs associated with walking.
