To reach Béal Tonnta Strand, begin at Bantry Pier in Bantry, Co. Cork. From the pier, take the Whiddy Island Ferry, operated by Tim O'Leary, for a 10-15 minute ride to Whiddy Island. The ferry operates year-round, with multiple daily sailings. Upon arrival at Whiddy Island, the beach is a short walk away. Ferry costs are approximately €8 for adults and €4 for children. Walking
Once you arrive on Whiddy Island via the ferry, Béal Tonnta Strand is accessible by foot. From the ferry landing point, follow the road inland, and then take the first left. Continue along this road for approximately 1.5km, following signs for 'Kilmore'. The beach will be on your right, down a short lane. The walk from the ferry to the beach is relatively flat and should take approximately 20-25 minutes.
