Discover more about Killiney Hill Park

Killiney Hill Park, comprised of Killiney Hill and Dalkey Hill, is a scenic public park overlooking Killiney and Dalkey villages, about 15 km south of Dublin. Dedicated to public use in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee, the park offers breathtaking views and a peaceful retreat from city life. Once known as Victoria Hill, the park boasts dramatic topography, with its highest point reaching 170 meters above sea level at the obelisk. Visitors can explore various walking paths and woodland trails, enjoying spectacular views of Dublin to the northwest, the Irish Sea and Welsh mountains to the east and southeast, and Bray Head and the Wicklow Mountains to the south. The park features historical monuments, including an obelisk erected in 1742 to commemorate relief efforts during a famine and a pyramid built in 1852 by Robert Warren, known locally as the "Wishing Stone". Legend says wishes come true if you circle the pyramid, climb to the top, and look towards St. Begnet's Oratory on Dalkey Island. Killiney Hill Park provides amenities such as a playground and a tea room near the Victorian entrance, which was recently upgraded to be universally accessible. The park's diverse landscape and rich history make it a unique and beloved destination for locals and tourists alike.
