Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Bray, head northeast on Main Street (N11). After about 400 meters, turn left onto Church Terrace. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, and take the second exit onto Killarney Road (R767). Follow this road until you see a sign for the DART station. Cross the railway tracks and continue walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Kilmantin Hill. Turn right onto Kilmantin Hill, and Wicklow Historic Gaol will be located on your left side after a short walk.

    From Bray DART Station, purchase a ticket to Wicklow Town. Board a southbound train and enjoy the scenic journey, which takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Wicklow Station, exit the station and head northwest on Station Road. Continue straight, and then turn right onto Kilmantin Hill. Follow Kilmantin Hill for about 600 meters, and you will find Wicklow Historic Gaol on your left.

    From Bray, head to the Bray Bus Station located on Quinsborough Road. Take the Dublin Bus route 133 towards Wicklow Town. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Wicklow Historic Gaol' stop. After alighting, cross the street and walk along Kilmantin Hill for a short distance, and you will see Wicklow Historic Gaol on your right.
