If you are driving, start on the A2 road from the Causeway Coastal Route. Follow the signs directing you to Larne/Carrickfergus. Stay on the A2 for approximately 20 miles, enjoying the coastal views. As you approach Carrickfergus, take the exit for the A56 towards Carrickfergus. Continue on the A56 until you reach the town, then follow signs for Whitehead. Once in Whitehead, follow Blackhead Path directly to the lighthouse. Parking is available near the lighthouse, but be aware that spaces can fill up quickly during peak tourist times.

To reach Blackhead Lighthouse by public transportation, take a train from Belfast to Whitehead. The train journey takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Whitehead station, exit the station and walk towards the seafront. Follow the signs for Blackhead Path, which will lead you directly to the lighthouse. The walk from the station to the lighthouse is approximately 1.5 miles and offers scenic views of the coastline.
