Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, take the N6 from any part of Connacht towards Galway City. Follow the N6 until you reach the city center. Once in Galway, follow signs for the Quay Street area. You can park at the Eyre Square car park or the Hynes Yard car park, which are both within walking distance to the Spanish Arch. From Eyre Square, walk towards Quay Street and continue until you reach the Long Walk. Spanish Arch is located at 2 The Long Walk.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Spanish Arch by public transportation, take a bus to Galway City from any town in Connacht (e.g., Westport, Castlebar, or Ballina). Bus Eireann operates frequent services. Once you arrive at the Galway bus station, exit and walk towards Eyre Square. From there, follow the directions provided for car travelers: walk towards Quay Street and then continue onto the Long Walk to reach Spanish Arch at 2 The Long Walk.

• Walking from Eyre Square

  If you are already in the city center around Eyre Square, the Spanish Arch is approximately a 15-minute walk. Head southwest on Shop Street, then turn right onto Quay Street. Continue straight until you reach the Long Walk, and Spanish Arch will be located at 2 The Long Walk. You’ll enjoy views of the River Corrib along the way.
