Rock Close is located within the Blarney Castle Gardens and is easily accessible by foot from the main entrance. Follow the signs within the gardens directing you towards the Rock Close, which is situated on the eastern side of the castle. The path is well-maintained, but comfortable shoes are recommended due to the natural terrain. Allow approximately 2-3 hours to fully explore the gardens, including Rock Close.
Public Transport
If arriving by public transport from Cork, take the number 215 bus to Blarney Village. From the bus stop, it is a short, approximately 5-minute walk to the entrance of Blarney Castle and Gardens. Follow the signs to the castle and then proceed to Rock Close within the gardens. A single bus fare from Cork to Blarney costs approximately €4-€6.
Driving
If driving, follow the signs to Blarney from Cork city. Blarney Castle provides free parking for visitors. From the parking area, walk towards the main entrance of Blarney Castle and Gardens. Once inside the grounds, follow the signs to Rock Close. Parking is free, but a penalty of €50 may apply for cars released after closing time.
