Housed in a beautiful Victorian building, The Oval Bar's history is intertwined with Dublin's own.The pub's original Victorian exterior, featuring a large lunette oval window and bay windows, miraculously survived the destruction of the 1916 Rising. During this period, its proximity to the General Post Office and newspaper offices led to the pub's interior being completely destroyed. It was lovingly restored in 1917. The Oval Bar was rebuilt and reopened in 1922.Today, The Oval Bar offers a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers, visitors, and locals alike. It features three floors of seating and a function area with a private bar that can accommodate up to 50 people. The Oval Bar serves a full menu daily, with traditional Irish stew and an all-day breakfast being popular choices. Live music is featured every Saturday night. The pub also shows a variety of live sporting events and provides free WIFI.
