Getting there

Car

If you are driving, head towards Claregalway from Galway City. Start on the N84 road, following signs for Castlebar. After about 7 kilometers, turn left onto the R339 towards Claregalway. Continue on this road for approximately 6 kilometers until you reach Claregalway village. The castle is located on the right side of the road, just after passing the village center. Parking is available nearby.

Public Transportation

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Galway City to Claregalway. Bus services such as Bus Éireann operate routes from the Galway Bus Station to Claregalway. Look for bus number 404 or 407, which runs regularly throughout the day. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Claregalway village, the castle is within walking distance. Head southeast on Main Street for about 10 minutes, and you will see Claregalway Castle on your left.

If you are already in Claregalway village, you can walk to the castle. Start at the village center and head southeast on Main Street. Continue straight for about 750 meters, and you will see Claregalway Castle on your left. The walk is straightforward and allows you to enjoy the village scenery.
