Rinville Park, situated on the shores of Galway Bay near Oranmore, is a captivating destination that combines natural beauty with historical significance. The estate later passed to the Athy family through marriage.The park features the ruins of Rinville Castle, a 16th-century tower house built by Richard McThomas Oge of the Burke family. The castle has a rich history, having been attacked in 1574 and changing hands several times. Although the interior is closed, the exterior can be viewed by the public.Also within the park are the ruins of Rinville House, a late Georgian house built in 1820. The house was occupied by the Athy family until 1944 and was later destroyed by fire in 1976. Today, the ivy-covered ruins offer a glimpse into the past.Rinville Park offers extensive walking trails through woodlands, open farmland, and along the coast.
