Car
If you are driving, head towards Galway city center. From the city center, follow the signs for Salthill. You will take the R336 road, which leads directly to Salthill Prom. The journey should take approximately 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Salthill, look for parking options along the promenade or in designated car parks. Be aware that parking may incur a fee, typically around €2-€3 per hour.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can catch a bus from various points in Galway city. The Bus Éireann Route 404 runs frequently from Galway city center to Salthill. You can board the bus at the Eyre Square bus stop. The fare is approximately €2.50 one way. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the Salthill Promenade stop, and you will be right at the beginning of the promenade.
Walking
If you are located within Galway city and prefer to walk, you can enjoy a scenic stroll to Salthill Prom. From Eyre Square, head west towards Quay Street, then continue along the waterfront. Follow the path that leads you to Salthill, which is about a 30-40 minute walk (2 km). This route offers beautiful views of Galway Bay along the way.
