Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Galway city center. Get on the N6 from Forster St and follow the signs for N6/M6. Continue on the N6 for about 24 km until you reach the junction for the N83 (signs for Tuam). Take the N83 and follow it for about 10 km. After passing through Tuam, continue on the N83 for another 10 km, then turn left onto the R332. Follow the R332 for approximately 5 km until you see signs for Tyrone. Turn right onto the L-4221 road leading to Tyrone House. The house will be on your left after about 1 km. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Galway city to Tuam. Bus Eireann operates routes from Galway to Tuam that take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Tuam, you can take a taxi to Tyrone House, which is about 10 km away. Taxi fare may range from €15 to €20, depending on the taxi service. Alternatively, you can check if there are local shuttle services or ask the bus driver for recommendations on reaching Tyrone House.
Combination of Public Transport and Walking
Another option is to take a bus from Galway to Tuam, as mentioned above. Once in Tuam, instead of taking a taxi, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop if available. Biking to Tyrone House will take around 40 minutes. Follow the N83 as mentioned before, and then take the R332. This option is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Galway countryside while getting some exercise. Ensure to check the availability of bicycle rentals in Tuam before your trip.
