Car
The most convenient way to reach Geokaun Mountain is by car. From Portmagee, cross the bridge onto Valentia Island and follow the signs. After crossing the bridge, turn left at the T-junction, continue for 1.5km, and then turn right. Continue for 4km, and the entrance to Geokaun Mountain will be on your left. Parking is available at several levels on the mountain, with a fee of €8 per car/motorbike payable at the entrance. Be prepared for a steep ascent on the road to the summit.
Walking
For those arriving via the car ferry at Knightstown, exit the ferry and turn right. Drive through the village, and at the Y-junction, take the right road. Continue for 2.7km, then take a sharp left after the wooded area, followed by the next right. Continue on this road for 1.7km; the entrance to Geokaun Mountain will be on your right. From the entrance, it's a steep but rewarding walk to the summit. The entrance fee is €4 per walker/cyclist.
Taxi
If arriving at Kerry Airport (KIR), a taxi to Valentia Island is a direct option. The taxi journey to Valentia Island typically takes around 15 minutes and costs approximately €29-€40. From there follow the directions listed above for travel by car or walking.
