Walking
From Killarney town center, the main entrance to Killarney National Park via the Golden Gates on Muckross Road is approximately a 20-30 minute walk. Alternatively, you can walk to the park via Ross Road or Mission Road. From the town center, follow the N71 Muckross Road, keeping an eye out for the park entrance on your left. There are footpaths along the N71 for pedestrian safety. Note that there is no on-site parking at Killarney House and Gardens.

From Killarney town, the 'Big Red Bus' hop-on, hop-off service provides access to the park's main attractions between March and November. The bus stops at several locations in the town center, including Mission Road (near Killarney Plaza Hotel), Ross Castle, Muckross House & Gardens, Muckross Traditional Farms, and Torc Waterfall. A day ticket costs approximately €15-20.
