Getting There

  • Car

    From Killarney, take the N72 road towards Killorglin. After approximately 15 km, you will reach the junction with the N70. Turn left onto the N70 and continue following the signs for the Ring of Kerry. After about 20 km, look for signs for Mountain Stage Viewpoint. Turn right onto a smaller road leading to the viewpoint. There is a designated parking area for visitors. Parking may be limited during peak season.

Mountain Stage Viewpoint is a must-stop destination along the iconic Ring of Kerry, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes of Ireland. Situated on the N70 road, approximately 8 km west of Glenbeigh, this viewpoint provides sweeping views of lush green hills, rolling valleys, and distant mountains.From this vantage point, you can admire the stunning Dingle Bay and the beautiful stretches of sandy beaches, including Rossbeigh Strand and Inch Strand. To the rear, the mountainous hills hide the remains of the old Killorglin to Valentia line of the Great Southern and Western Railway, which operated from 1893 to 1960. There are even plans to revitalize the disused track as a cycling greenway.Mountain Stage is more than just a scenic stop; it's a place to pause, reflect, and appreciate the tranquility of nature. The surrounding area boasts diverse flora and fauna, with various bird species and wildflowers adding to the location's charm.
