Car
From Kilkenny City, take the R697 road towards Thomastown. Continue on R697 for approximately 20 minutes. As you approach Thomastown, stay on R697 and follow the signs for Jerpoint Abbey. Turn right onto the R95 and continue for about 2 km. Jerpoint Abbey will be on your left, with ample parking available at the site.
Public Transportation
From Kilkenny City, take the Bus Éireann service (Route 833) towards Thomastown. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Alight at the Thomastown stop. From there, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a short taxi ride (around 5-10 minutes) to Jerpoint Abbey. The taxi fare should be between €10-€15.
Walking
If you find yourself in Thomastown, you can walk to Jerpoint Abbey. Start on the main street and head south towards the R95. Follow the R95 for approximately 2 km. The walk will take around 30 minutes and you will enjoy the scenic views along the way.
