Turn left onto the R433 and follow the road for about 6 km. Look for signs directing you to Ballyhuppahane. Once you reach Ballyhuppahane, continue to follow local road signs to Cathole Falls, which is approximately 2 km from the village center. Parking is available near the falls.

For those using public transport, take a bus from Portlaoise to Borris-in-Ossory (Bus Éireann operates this route). Upon arriving at Borris-in-Ossory, you will need to arrange for a taxi or local transport to get to Ballyhuppahane, as public transport options are limited in this rural area. The distance from Borris-in-Ossory to Cathole Falls is approximately 5 km, so a taxi would be the most efficient way to reach your destination. Expect to pay around €10-€15 for the taxi fare.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity, you can walk to Cathole Falls from Ballyhuppahane village. The walk is approximately 2 km and takes around 30-40 minutes. Head southwest out of the village, following the local roads which will lead you directly to the falls. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as some parts of the path may be uneven.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from Portlaoise to Ballyhuppahane via the N80 and R433, which is about 12 km.
