Car
If you are driving from Waterford city, take the N25 road heading east towards Cork. After about 15 kilometers, take the exit towards Kilmacthomas (R676). Follow the R676 to Kilmacthomas, then continue on the R677 towards the Comeragh Mountains. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will see signs for Mahon Falls. Turn left onto a narrow road leading to the falls. There is a parking area available, but be aware that it may have limited space, especially during busy times.
Public Transportation
To reach Mahon Falls via public transport, take a bus from Waterford city to Kilmacthomas. Bus Éireann operates services on this route. Once you arrive in Kilmacthomas, you will need to arrange a taxi to Mahon Falls, which is about 10 kilometers away. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Kilmacthomas and prefer walking, you can hike to Mahon Falls. From Kilmacthomas, head southwest on the R677 road. It is approximately a 10-kilometer walk to the falls. The route is scenic, so be prepared for a leisurely trek through the beautiful countryside. Ensure you wear comfortable footwear and bring water.
