Car
If you're driving to Fore Abbey, start from the town of Mullingar. Head northwest on the N4 towards Longford. After approximately 15 kilometers, take the exit onto the N52 towards Tullamore. Continue on the N52 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the village of Fore. Look for signs to Fore Abbey, which is located just off the main road. There is parking available near the Abbey.
Public Transportation
To reach Fore Abbey by public transport, take a bus from Mullingar to Castlepollard. Buses are available from Mullingar Bus Station and operate several times a day. Once you arrive in Castlepollard, you can either take a taxi to Fore Abbey, which is about a 10-minute drive, or check for local bus services that go to Fore. The Abbey is clearly signposted, and you can ask locals for directions if needed.
Car from Athlone
If you're coming from Athlone, travel on the N62 towards Moate. Continue on the N62 for about 20 kilometers and then take the exit onto the N4 towards Mullingar. After about 15 kilometers, take the N52 exit towards Tullamore. Drive for about 10 kilometers until you see signs for Fore. Follow the signs to the Abbey, where parking is available.
Walking from Fore Village
If you are in the village of Fore, you can easily walk to Fore Abbey. From the village center, head north on the main road (R394) for about 1 kilometer. Follow the signs to Fore Abbey, which will be on your right. The walk takes about 15-20 minutes and is a pleasant way to enjoy the scenery.
