Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the main Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre located on the R335 road. Head southwest on the R335 towards Westport for about 5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the N59. Turn right onto the N59 and drive for approximately 4 kilometers. You will see signs for Bellataleen, where the View Point is located. Follow the signs, and when you reach Q976+HR in Ballyhip, you will find a parking area nearby. Please note that parking is generally free but check for any signage regarding restrictions.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Westport to the nearest stop to Croagh Patrick. Bus Eireann operates services from Westport to various places in County Mayo. Once you arrive at the Croagh Patrick stop, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers towards the Visitor Centre. From there, follow the same directions as for car travel. Be sure to check the local bus schedules for the latest information about routes and times, as they may vary.

• Walking

  If you prefer to hike, you can start from the Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre and follow the designated walking paths towards the summit, as View Point is an accessible viewpoint along the route. The distance to the View Point is about 1.5 kilometers from the Visitor Centre. Ensure you wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry plenty of water. This is a popular hiking area, so you might encounter other hikers along the way.
