Car
If you are driving from Croagh Patrick, start by heading northeast on the R335 towards Westport. Continue for approximately 7 km until you reach the junction with the N59. Turn left onto the N59 and continue for about 2.5 km. Look for Bertra Road on your right. Turn onto Bertra Road and follow it for about 1.5 km until you reach Bertra Beach. There is parking available near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Bertra Beach using public transportation, take a bus from Westport to Murrisk. The bus departs from Westport bus station. Once you arrive in Murrisk, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to reach Bertra Beach. Follow the signs towards Bertra Road, and you will find the beach at the end of the road. Be aware that bus schedules may vary, so check the latest times ahead of your trip.
Walking
If you are already in Croagh Patrick and prefer to walk, begin at the base of Croagh Patrick and head southeast towards the village of Murrisk. The walk is approximately 5 km and will take you around 1 hour. Upon reaching Murrisk, turn onto Bertra Road and continue for about 1.5 km to reach Bertra Beach.
