Getting There

  • Bus

    From Drogheda, head to the Drogheda Bus Station, located at the corner of the Fair Street and the Railway Station. Look for the bus service to Slane, which is operated by Bus Éireann. The route number you need is 164, which operates regularly throughout the day. The journey to Slane will take approximately 25-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Slane village bus stop, you will be about 2 kilometers from Slane Castle.

    After getting off the bus at the Slane village stop, walk towards the main road, and head north on the N51. You will see signs directing you towards Slane Castle. Continue walking straight for about 2 kilometers. As you approach Slane Castle, you will cross the River Boyne on a small bridge, and the castle will be visible ahead. Follow the pathway leading to the castle entrance.
