Boyne Valley: Private Whiskey Tour with Slane Castle Distillery

A+ exceptional treatment for our group of 29.

Gary Byrne was an excellent tour guide. His interest in making this trip smooth and special for all of us was more than we anticipated. His timing, friendly, organized behavior and knowledge all shined through. Mint Julep Whiskey tours are highly recommended and the food was delicious. Our driver John was highly trusted and couldn’t have done better. Ireland was a beautiful country and the Whiskey Chicks sure brought the entire plan together with Gary as our lead! I highly recommend Gary and John as your guides.

Newgrange & Boyne Valley Private Day Tour from Dublin

When your driver is your guide

The last time was in Ireland a year ago I had an accident, and so I was checking to see if it was feasible to have a private driver car for a day. I weighed the options and saw that, well, it's relatively expensive compared to just renting a car. But I didn't realize the true value of the private driver and tour guide since I could never have afforded that in the past. Our guide Ray in this case was such a tremendous help, not just on the same day. He practically read my mind of what I wanted to do. And adjusted the schedule so that we had just the right amount of time to do everything we wanted including a leisurely lunch. We had tickets to New Grange and he knew exactly where to to meet us. At the end of the day, he took us directly to the restaurant where we met our friends for dinner. And he told me not to miss the video about at the Hill of Tara the next day even though he wasn't even engaged by us. And he was right about that too.

Dublin to Galway Luxury Private Chauffeur Guide Tour

Knowledgeable and engaging tour guide

We just completed a four-day tour of Galway and environs with Derek Spillane of Wild About Ireland Tours. We told him of our interests and Derek fashioned an itinerary that met our requests and then some. There the popular sites, like the Cliffs of Moher, but also lesser-visited places like Thoor Ballylee (Yeats’s summer home), hedge tombs in the Burren and the Michael Davitt Museum that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen but were just terrific. Derek is extremely knowledgeable. His passion and love for the area came through. Highly recommended.
