Walking
If you are starting from Dublin City Centre, head towards the north side of the River Liffey. You can do this by walking towards O'Connell Bridge, which connects the south and north sides. Once across the bridge, continue straight onto O'Connell Street. Follow O'Connell Street until you reach the intersection with Parnell Street. Turn left onto Parnell Street and follow it until it becomes the North Circular Road. Continue straight on the North Circular Road for about 10 minutes. Then, take a right onto Smithfield Square. You will know you are there when you see the large open space, the distinctive cobbled area, and the surrounding buildings.
