  • Walking

    If you are near Dublin Castle, exit the castle grounds and head towards Dame Street. Walk down Dame Street until you reach the junction with Lord Edward Street. Turn left onto Lord Edward Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Clanbrassil Street. Turn right onto Clanbrassil Street and continue until you see the entrance to St. Patrick's Close on your left. The cathedral will be at the end of the close.

    If you are near O'Connell Street, find the closest bus stop and take the bus number 49, 54A, or 77A towards the direction of Clanbrassil Street. Get off at the stop named 'St. Patrick's Close.' From there, walk down St. Patrick's Close for a short distance, and you will see St. Patrick's Cathedral at the end of the close.

    If you are near the LUAS Red Line tram, board the tram in the direction of Tallaght and get off at the 'Smithfield' stop. From Smithfield, head towards the north side of the square and take the bus number 123 or 9 towards the direction of Clanbrassil Street. After a few stops, get off at 'St. Patrick's Close' and walk down the close to reach the cathedral.
