Bus
To reach the Wicklow Way from Dublin city center, you can take a bus from O'Connell Street. Look for the Dublin Bus number 44, which travels towards 'Wicklow'. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. After getting on the bus, enjoy the scenic views as you pass through the outskirts of the city. Once you arrive at the 'Wicklow Way' stop, disembark and follow the signs towards the trailhead.
Train
From Dublin city center, head to Pearse Station or Tara Street Station to catch a train to Bray. Purchase a ticket to Bray from the ticket machine or at the ticket counter. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bray Station, exit the station and walk towards the coast. Follow the signs for the Wicklow Way, which begins at the southern end of Bray.
DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit)
Take the DART train from any DART station in Dublin towards Greystones or Bray. If you are starting from the city center, board at Connolly Station or Pearse Station. The DART journey to Bray takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bray, exit the station, and head towards the seafront. Follow the signs leading to the Wicklow Way trail, which starts near the cliffs.
Walking
If you are staying near the southern part of Dublin, you can walk to the Wicklow Way. Head towards the Dublin mountains, following local trails that lead you towards the start of the Wicklow Way. This route may take longer, approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your starting point. Make sure to have a map or use a GPS app to guide you.
