Start from Eyre Square, the central hub of Galway. Head southwest on the pedestrian street, Shop Street. Continue straight until you reach Quay Street, and turn left. Follow Quay Street until you reach the Spanish Arch, which is a historic landmark. From the Spanish Arch, continue along the Salthill Promenade path. You will enjoy beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. Keep walking along the promenade until you see the entrance to the Mutton Island Causeway on your right. The causeway leads directly out to Mutton Island. It is approximately a 30-minute walk from Eyre Square to the entrance.
