Car
If you are traveling by car from Glendalough, start by leaving the car park near the Glendalough Visitor Centre. Head west on the R756 road for approximately 3.5 kilometers. Look for the sign for Knocksink Wood on your right. Turn right onto the small access road, which leads directly to the entrance of Knocksink Wood. There is typically no parking fee at the entrance.
Public Transport
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Glendalough to the nearby town of Laragh. Board the 'St. Kevin's Bus' which operates regularly from the main road outside the Visitor Centre. The bus fare is around €2-€3. Once you arrive in Laragh, you can either take a taxi or walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach Knocksink Wood. Walking can be a pleasant experience, following the main road until you see the entrance on your left.
Walking
For those staying within Glendalough, you can walk to Knocksink Wood. Start at the Glendalough Visitor Centre and follow the trail that leads you along the scenic River Derry. It’s about a 45-minute walk, covering approximately 3 kilometers. Follow the signs towards the Wicklow Way, and continue until you reach the entrance of Knocksink Wood.
