Getting There

    From Glendalough, head southwest on the R756 road. Continue on this road for about 19 kilometers until you reach the junction with the N81. Turn left onto the N81 and follow the signs for Rathdrum. After approximately 8 kilometers, take the exit for the R752 towards Avoca. Continue on the R752 for about 5 kilometers, then turn right onto the R747. Follow the R747 for around 10 kilometers until you reach the Raven area. There is a parking area near the entrance to Raven Wood Nature Reserve. Please note that parking may incur a fee, so have some change ready.

    From Glendalough, take a local bus service such as the 183 towards Rathdrum. This bus operates several times a day; check the schedule for exact times. Once you arrive in Rathdrum, transfer to the 132 bus towards Wexford. Get off at the Raven stop. From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of Raven Wood Nature Reserve. Be aware that the bus fare will cost approximately €5-€10, depending on your stops.

    For those staying in Glendalough and wanting to hike, you can walk southwest on the R756 road. It's about a 5-hour hike to reach Raven Wood Nature Reserve. Follow the R756 until it connects to the N81, then take the R752 towards Avoca. This scenic hike takes you through beautiful countryside, but be sure to wear good walking shoes and bring water and snacks, as this is a long trek.
