Walking
From Kilkenny Castle, head southeast on the main path towards the castle gate. Exit the castle grounds and turn left onto the main street (Castle Road). Walk straight until you reach the intersection with High Street. Turn right onto High Street and continue walking until you see the signs for The Black Abbey, which will be on your left after about 800 meters. The Black Abbey is located at Gardens, Kilkenny.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you are near Kilkenny city center, find the nearest bus stop for the local bus service. Board the bus that goes towards 'Smith's SuperValu' or 'The Watergate Theatre'. Get off at the stop named 'Ormonde Road'. From there, walk straight down Ormonde Road until you reach the junction with High Street. Turn left onto High Street and walk for approximately 500 meters. The Black Abbey will be on your left-hand side.
Walking
If you are at the Kilkenny Railway Station, exit the station and turn right onto the main road. Walk straight for about 1 kilometer, passing by the local shops and cafes. Continue straight until you see a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the High Street. Walk down High Street for about 600 meters, and The Black Abbey will be located on your left, just past the junction with Gardens.
