Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Kilkenny Castle, exit the castle grounds and head towards the main road, Castle Road. Turn left onto Parliament Street and walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach John Street. Turn right onto John Street and continue straight. After approximately 5 minutes, you will see The Black Abbey on your left, located at Gardens, Kilkenny.

    From St. Canice's Cathedral, exit the cathedral grounds and turn left onto the road. Walk down to the main road, and turn left onto the Circular Road. Continue straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the junction with John Street. Turn right onto John Street, and after a short walk, The Black Abbey will be on your left at Gardens, Kilkenny.
