Getting There

• Bus

  From Killarney town center, head to the Killarney Bus Station located on Park Road. Look for the bus service to Glengarriff, which is the nearest town to Garnish Island. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once in Glengarriff, you will find the ferry terminal that provides access to Garnish Island. Follow the signs towards the ferry departure point and purchase your ticket for the boat ride to the island.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are up for a long walk, exit Killarney and head towards the N71 road, which leads you to Glengarriff. This route is approximately 25 kilometers and will take several hours. Be sure to have a map or GPS enabled on your phone, and take regular breaks. Once you reach Glengarriff, follow the signs to the ferry terminal to get to Garnish Island.

• Bike Rental

  Consider renting a bike from one of the many rental shops in Killarney. After renting your bike, head towards the N71 road and cycle towards Glengarriff, which is roughly 25 kilometers away. The ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your speed. Upon reaching Glengarriff, follow the signs to the ferry terminal for transportation to Garnish Island.

• Taxi

  For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi from Killarney to Glengarriff. Simply call a local taxi service or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Glengarriff, head to the ferry terminal to catch a boat to Garnish Island.
