Getting There

Walking
From Kinsale town center, head southeast towards the main street, Market Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with the R600 road. Turn left onto the R600 road and follow it for approximately 8 kilometers. As you walk, enjoy the beautiful views of the countryside. Once you reach the town of Carrigtwohill, look for signs directing you to Fota Island. You may have to walk a bit further to the entrance of Fota House, which is located on Fota Island.

From Kinsale, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the main street. Look for the bus service #226 towards Cork City. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride for about 30 minutes. Get off at the Carrigtwohill stop. From there, walk towards the Fota Island entrance, which is approximately a 20-minute walk. You can ask locals for directions if needed, as they are usually very helpful.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Kinsale. Start from the center of Kinsale and follow the R600 road towards Carrigtwohill.
