Getting There

  • Car

    From Mizen Head, take the R591 road northeast towards Schull. Continue on R591 for about 10 miles (16 km) until you reach the junction with R586. Turn left onto R586 and follow the road for another 5 miles (8 km) until you reach the village of Ballydehob. In Ballydehob, turn left onto N71 and then take a right onto the R594 towards Ballybrack. After approximately 3 miles (5 km), you will see signs for Goat Island Beacon. Follow the signs to the parking area. Note that parking may be limited.

    From Mizen Head, take a bus towards Schull (check local bus schedules for service availability). Once you arrive in Schull, transfer to a bus heading to Ballydehob. Upon reaching Ballydehob, you can either walk (about 1.5 miles) or take a local taxi to Goat Island Beacon. Please note that public transport may have limited schedules, especially on weekends.
