From the Mourne Mountains, get onto the A2 road heading towards Newcastle. Continue on the A2 until you reach the junction with the A1. Take the A1 towards Belfast. Once you approach the city, follow signs for the A12 towards West Belfast. Stay on the A12 until you see signs for the Boucher Road (Boucher Road is also known as the A55). Continue on Boucher Road, and then turn left onto Balmoral Road. Prison Island Belfast will be on your left at Unit 3, 17 Balmoral Rd, BT12 6QA. Parking is available nearby; expect to pay around £2-£3 per hour.

To reach Prison Island Belfast from the Mourne Mountains using public transport, first take a bus from Newcastle to Belfast. Services are provided by Translink; the bus number 238 usually runs regularly. Once in Belfast, disembark at the Europa Buscentre. From there, transfer to Metro bus service 9 or 10 towards the Lisburn Road. Get off at the Balmoral Road stop. Walk a short distance down Balmoral Road, and you will find Prison Island Belfast at Unit 3, 17 Balmoral Rd, BT12 6QA. The bus fare from Newcastle to Belfast is approximately £5, and a single fare on the Metro is around £1.80.
