Getting There

Walking
From the center of Salthill, head south on the Promenade towards Blackrock. Continue walking along the seafront for approximately 2.5 km until you reach the end of the Promenade. At the end, turn left onto R336 and follow the road. After about 500 meters, you will reach a junction. Take the right turn onto the N59 road, which will take you towards Cong. Continue on this road for about 10 km, and you will see signs for Ashford Castle as you approach Cong.

From Salthill, walk to the nearest bus stop on the Promenade. Take the Bus Éireann Route 423 towards Ballinrobe. The bus will take you through several stops, and you need to get off at the Cong stop. Once you arrive in Cong, it's about a 15-minute walk to Ashford Castle. Head northeast on the main street until you see Ashford Castle's entrance on your right.
