Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head Private Full-Day Tour

Highlight of our Trip!

Exploring the Dingle Peninsula was something we were really looking forward to on our trip, and Steve made it one of our favourite days in Ireland. His knowledge of the area, the stories he shared and the thoughtful route he planned around our interests made the day so much more than just sightseeing. It was wonderful to sit back, take in the incredible scenery and enjoy the drive without having to navigate the roads ourselves. Steve was a pleasure to spend the day with, and I couldn't recommend booking with him more!

Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head Private Half-Day Tour

We spent a perfect morning touring the northern Dingle peninsula with an extraordinary Irish guide

My wife and I unexpectedly had several free hours in Dunquin, outside Dingle. The area is breathtaking but we had no idea how to spend our time enjoying the local area. Our hostess recommended Steve’s because recent guests raved about their bespoke tour with the company. We were able to book our own tour with Steve’s and the experience was delightful. He started by bringing us to Conor Pass to view the majestic views of the landscape and provided us with a fascinating lesson on the history of the local land and cultures that lived there since prehistoric times. We have visited Ireland many times and his engaging and personal warmth helped us to appreciate the events and circumstances that helped to form the classic Irish culture. An objective point of view and a deep knowledge of history, geography and cultures made the entire tour fascinating. After Conor Pass, we traveled through other interesting locations including the Blennerville Windmill and concluded with a tour of Tralee. The best analogy I can think of to describe this experience is to compare it a time we had an Italian expert walk us through a custom tour of Pompei. In each case, we were fascinated, energized and grateful to have enjoyed the time with a guide who was intelligent, warm, attentive and engaging. If we can arrange things, we will come back and book a tour of several-days length for our older children that combines the Ring of Kerry tour and the Dingle tour to take a deeper dive on the history of the region.

Dingle: Slea Head Drive Tour Full Day - Personal Chauffeur Guide

We spent the day...

We spent the day exploring Slea Head with the most knowledgeable, friendly, and experienced tour guide ever - Gillian Sheehy. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. She picked us up from our accommodation promptly at 9:00 and made sure to tailor the tour to our preferences. If we wanted to spend a little more time at one of the points of interest - that was fine. If we wanted to skip something - that was fine. Her car was very comfortable and she was a very accomplished driver - especially navigating the very narrow roadways. If someone wants to really focus on local attractions - this would be a very good way to do it. I would highly recommend this very personalized tour experience!
